Acidenthera (Gladiolus callianthus)

Stalks of fragrant white flowers with brown centers make this a unique addition to your garden. These bulbs bloom later than many other summer-flowering bulbs. They require a well-drained soil and a warm spot in the garden. Dig and store for winter in zones 3-7 (if stored in the light, the bulbs turn green; if stored in the dark, they remain white). They can also be planted in containers and, combined with blue lobelias and helichrysum, they make a beautiful display.

Planting & Fertilizing It is extremely important to make sure there is good drainage where you plant your bulbs and that you fertilize the bulbs 3 times with a well-balanced 10-10-10 fertilizer. Fertilize once when planting, once when they just come above the surface and once right after flowering.
