A Couple of Tips
from Us! |
- You can still divide your herbaceous perennials if you have
some that are doing very well in your garden and you want them
to fill out a few more square feet. It makes for a nice
'show' when there are areas where plants are 'flowing' rather
than symmetrically aligned in a triangle or square. Water
the 'motherplant' the day before, then dig it up and divide in 2
or 4 or more, making to sure to keep at least one or more 'eyes'
per division. Cut out the dead parts (if any), then
replant and water well.
- Give your dormant plants some extra cover with some mulch,
compost, bark, etc. This little bit of caring goes a long
way in protecting the plants until Spring.
