To help you in your gardening choices, we would like to offer you some combination plantings - items we feel complement each other well in the garden - which you can find listed below.  While it is nice to have something in bloom all season, it can also be very dramatic if there is an abundance of color blooming at the same time.
.
Muscari Armeniacum & Narcissi Thalia Tulip Parade & Tulip White Emperor
Hyacinth Delft Blue & Narcissi Carlton Tulip Atilla & Tulip White Emperor
Crocus Flower Record & Crocus Yellow Mammoth Tulip Golden Parade & Tulip Pink Impression
.

In addition to combination plantings, here are a few suggestions for those of you who say that it is difficult to garden because:

.

I don't have a garden, so I can't plant flowerbulbs:

People who live in apartments also can enjoy the beauty of combination planting flowerbulbs, as long as they have a balcony.  All that is required is a container about 6-8" deep with a diameter of 10-15".  Put some gravel or medium sized rocks in the bottom for drainage and fill it with some soil.  Then, plant 8 Tulip Red Emperor and 12 Narcissi Tete a Tete and cover with soil.  Finally, plant 15 Crocus Flower Record and 20 Puschkinia Libanotica and fill the bowl with more soil.  Water well and leave it on your balcony (unless it gets extremely cold outside).  Of course, you can use other varieties if you wish...check out our POT COLLECTIONS for more suggestions!

.

My bulbs always get eaten by deer:

Plant flowerbulbs that are not on their menu!  Daffodils, Narcissi, Scilla, Muscari, Galanthus, & Puschkinia are all items that are deer resistant.  In addition, we are now offering a line of Animal & Rodent Deterrents that will help solve this problem.

.

I don't have a garden or a balcony....what about me?:

You can garden indoors!  We have Amaryllis, Paperwhites and Hyacinths for the Holidays and even some of the other flowerbulbs will do well indoors.  These flowerbulbs are identified in our program as being excellent for indoor forcing.  We also have beautiful blue pottery with Dutch designs as well as crystal and glass vases for forcing hyacinths and paperwhites.  A pamphlet with detailed instructions will be included in your shipment.  Indoor gardening gives you a head start on Spring in Winter.  No more waiting for Mother Nature to say "Now it's time"!  For more information on forcing, click here.

..

We hope these suggestions will inspire you to continue to enjoy gardening or to experience it for the first time, depending on your level of past involvement.

Planting & Fertilizing
It is extremely important to make sure there is good drainage where you plant your bulbs and that you fertilize the bulbs 3 times with a well-balanced 10-10-10 fertilizer.  Fertilize once when planting, once when they just come above the surface and once right after flowering.
